AIM: To care for the needs and well being of all residents of the Weipa Community.

 Weipa Community Care Association (WCCA) receives funding from the Department of Communities.

It is a not-for-profit Community-based organisation.

The Objectives of WCCA are:

a)  To foster the development of groups which address identified community need.

b)  To provide information, referrals and resources to the community.

c)  To develop and facilitate practical, emotional and social networks utilizing existing community

      resources. 

d)  To promote community care in Weipa for residents and visitors as required.

e)  To provide and maintain a community based Family Day Care service which provides care

      for children aged 0-12yrs.

f)   To provide a retail outlet for second hand goods.

g)  To provide crisis accommodation and support for victims of domestic violence.

 

Weipa Community Centre Aims to Provide:

 

* Assistance to newcomers to Weipa who require local information.

* Support for community groups and organisations to run local events.

* Assistance to groups or individuals to find information / resources.

* Support and referral for people in crisis situations.

* Local events including morning teas to raise awareness or for fundraising for WCCA and

   other not for profit organisations.
